What would you do if you found a strange key to a small, locked door to a parallel world? So, you open the door, and find a strange tunnel, where you find another small door. You open the door. You see your mother cooking. She never cooks. She turns around, you stare at her face, you see black button eyes. This is what happens in the book and movie "Coraline", to a girl with that very name who goes through an adventure between two parallel worlds.
Coraline moves into a strange apartment in the middle of nowhere. She goes outside on a search for a magic well, where she meets a "creepy" boy named Wybie, a.k.a., Whyborn. She goes back home where she finds her mother at, what a surprise, the computer. She goes to her father's room where he is working on a book on gardens and plants. He tells her to go on a search around their new home, where some of the strangest people live, such as a strange circus man with his trained mice, two "lovely" retired actresses living with their dogs, dead and alive. She finds a small door on her search, a small, locked door to be specific.
That night she hears the squeaking of mice, which she follows to the small door, which is no longer locked. She follows the mice through a small tunnel, leading to, what looks like the apartment she was just in. Little does she know that she is in a parallel world. As she is looking around, she smells something nice, she follows the smell to see her mother cooking, which never happens. Coraline asks for her mother, she turns around and sees the woman, with black button eyes and gets the reply,"No silly, I'm your other mother." So what would you do if you opened that strange little door and found a parallel world with an other mother? This is what Coraline did.
